Dental Assistant - Dr Chau Dental Surgeons, Hobart

Are you an enthusiastic and patient-focused Dental Assistant looking to join a welcoming and established practice? Dr Chau Dental Surgeons is seeking a motivated Dental Assistant to join their team.

This is a full-time position offering a 9-day fortnight, providing a great work-life balance. Part-time arrangements will also be considered for the right candidate.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in providing excellent patient care, enjoys working as part of a team and is passionate about creating a positive experience for every patient.

The successful candidate must be able to cover both practice locations: 

• Hobart: 149 Macquarie Street, Hobart, TAS, 7000
• Rosny Park: 26 Bayfield Street, Rosny Park, TAS, 7018

As a Dental Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include chairside assisting, patient care and comfort, infection control, and helping ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.

Your Role Will Involve:

• Assisting dentists and dental hygienists in a variety of treatment procedures.
• Setting up and sterilising dental instruments and equipment.
• Managing patient care, from providing instructions to ensuring comfort.
• Contributing to the maintenance of health and safety standards.

What we are looking for:

• Previous dental assisting experience is preferred, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.
• Friendly and approachable, with strong communication skills and a genuine passion for patient care.
• Well organised, with good time management skills and attention to detail.
• Able to work independently while contributing positively to a supportive team environment.
• Comfortable using computers and learning practice management systems.
• Reliable, motivated and committed to creating a welcoming experience for patients.
• Hold a current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration, or be willing to obtain one.
