Dental Assistant - Lumino Feilding | Part-time

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice in Feilding. In this role, you will be providing essential support to our dentists and hygienists while delivering exceptional patient care. Hours: Monday-Thursday, 32 hours per week with the possibility of extending to 40 hours per week

• Assist dentists and hygienists during clinical procedures, including instrument sterilization, patient preparation, and chairside support as needed
• Greet patients in a warm and welcoming manner, manage check-in procedures, and maintain accurate patient records and scheduling systems
• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all instruments and materials are properly sterilized and organized for procedures
• Support patient comfort during procedures by providing chairside assistance 
• Schedule appointments, manage the appointment calendar, and communicate with patients regarding upcoming visits and treatment plans
• Perform general administrative tasks
• Follow infection control and safety protocols consistently to maintain a safe clinical environment

• Proven experience working in a dental office or healthcare environment is preferred; however, training will be provided for the right candidate with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy clinical environment
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation
• Demonstrated ability to follow infection control and safety protocols consistently
• Professional demeanor with a friendly, mature and empathetic approach to patient interactions
• Ability to work collaboratively with dentists, hygienists, and administrative staff
• Valid New Zealand work rights and local residency in the Feilding area
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies in a supportive environment
• Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with patients, internal team members, and external healthcare providers
