Job Description

Lumino The Dentist in Mt Eden, Auckland, New Zealand, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental professionals in delivering high-quality dental services.

  • Assist dentists and dental hygienists during various dental procedures, including examinations, cleanings, and treatments
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary equipment
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans
  • Provide instructions to patients regarding pre- and post-operative care, oral hygiene, and dental procedures
  • Manage inventory and order dental supplies as needed
  • Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols and sterilization procedures
  • Greet and assist patients in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a positive patient experience

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and dental professionals
  • Knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, and instruments
  • Proficiency in using dental equipment and computer systems for record-keeping and scheduling
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Previous experience as a dental assistant is a must
  • Completion of a dental assisting program or certification (may be required, depending on location and regulations)
  • Knowledge of dental practices, procedures, and patient care
  • Understanding of sterilization and infection control protocols
