Maven Dental Hervey Bay is a well-established practice located in the Urraween Road Medical Centre, Hervey Bay. Known for our gentle care with nervous patients and clear explanations of treatment, we provide general and restorative dentistry to patients across Hervey Bay and the Fraser Coast.
We're looking for a casual Dental Assistant to support our dentists chairside. This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly, supportive team and build your career within an established practice.
Job Description
Working closely with our dentists, Practice Manager and front office team, you'll help deliver exceptional patient care and support the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice.
What your days look like:
You'll provide chairside support across a range of general and restorative procedures while creating a positive experience for patients. Shifts are offered as they come up, mostly to cover leave and busy periods, and vary from week to week.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing chairside assistance across general, restorative and preventive treatments
- Assisting with extractions and other surgical procedures
- Preparing treatment rooms and sterilising instruments in line with infection control standards
- Keeping patients comfortable and informed, especially those who feel anxious
- Maintaining accurate clinical notes and charting in the practice management software
- Helping with stock control and ordering for your surgery
Qualifications
To succeed in the role, you will bring:
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant and/or a Certificate III in Dental Assisting (or higher)
- Knowledge of infection control and sterilisation protocols
- Confidence using dental practice management software (desirable)
- A calm, reassuring manner with nervous patients
- Clear and professional communication with patients and the team
- A willingness to share your experience and support newer team members
