Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our dynamic dental practice in Havelock North, New Zealand. In this dual role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring a seamless patient experience, from scheduling appointments to providing chairside assistance during dental procedures.

  • Assist our clinicians in delivering high-quality dental care to patients
  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
  • Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, ensuring efficient time management
  • Perform reception duties, including greeting patients, answering phone calls, and maintaining accurate patient records
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for patients and staff

The hours for this role are 

  • Monday: 8.15am - 5.00pm
  • Tuesday: 8.15am - 5.00pm
  • Thursday: 8.15am - 5.00pm

Qualifications

  • Proficient in dental terminology and procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and enthusiastic demeanor
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of dental software systems is an asset
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and customer service
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and demands
  • Previous experience in a dental office or healthcare setting is preferred
