We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Dental Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team at The Dental Group Hampton, due to practice growth. 

For over 20 years, we’ve proudly cared for the Bayside community, delivering a consistently high standard of clinical and professional dental care. We value patient comfort, teamwork, and excellence, and opportunities like this rarely become available within our practice.

Initially this position will start on a casual basis but could possibly lead into a permanent position for the right candidate.

Job Description

As a Dental Assistant, you will be trained to ensure that our patients receive the highest level of care by:

  • Provide chairside assistance, anticipating the needs of dentists and patients, and ensuring a seamless dental experience.
  • Prepare treatment rooms, sterilise instruments, and ensure all equipment is in optimal condition for use.
  • Take accurate patient records, including dental histories, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to infection control protocols and safety regulations.
  • Reception duties - meeting & greeting patients, general enquiries, record keeping and processing payments.

  • Multitasking & Adaptability – Managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Teamwork – Working collaboratively with dentists, OHT's and support staff.
  • Desire to Learn – Demonstrating a strong willingness to grow and stay up to date in dentistry.
  • Initiative – Proactively identifying needs and assisting beyond basic duties.
  • Ethical Standards – Maintaining honesty, professionalism, and high integrity in all actions.

No prior dental experience is required, just a genuine interest in healthcare, a willingness to learn, the ability to take on constructive feedback and a great attitude.

This is an entry level position with on the job training available for the right candidate.
