Courtney Orthodontics is seeking a professional and organised Receptionist to join our friendly team on a permanent, part-time basis. As the first point of contact for our patients and visitors, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and efficient experience for everyone who walks through our doors. This role is ideal for someone who loves interacting with people and enjoys building strong relationships with patients and team members alike.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Greeting patients in person and over the phone in a warm and professional manner
- Responding to patient email enquiries
- Booking and confirming appointments
- Process patient check-ins and check-outs collecting necessary information and payments where applicable
- Maintaining accurate patient records and filing systems
- Dictation typing of treatment plans and referral letters
- Following up on patient recalls
- Providing general administrative support to the practice team
Hours for this role are 28 per week:
- Monday and Tuesday: 8.00am to 5pm
- Wednesday and Thursday: 8.00am to 2.30pm
- Flexibility to work extra hours from time to time when needed
- Previous experience working in a reception or front desk role within a healthcare or dental setting
- Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse individuals
- Strong organisational and time keeping abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficiency in using computers and office software, including experience with appointment scheduling systems
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion
- Professional telephone manner and customer service ethos
- Attention to detail and accuracy in administrative tasks and data entry
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and support colleagues
- Desirable experience with dental practice management software or similar healthcare administration systems
- Desirable knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
