Job Description

As our Receptionist, you'll be the friendly face and welcoming voice of the practice. You'll help ensure every patient enjoys an exceptional experience while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the clinic.

This is a varied role that combines front-of-house customer service with administrative support, requiring excellent organisation, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for helping people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcoming patients and visitors with a friendly, professional approach
  • Managing appointment bookings, confirmations, and recalls
  • Responding to phone and email enquiries
  • Processing payments and assisting with invoicing and banking duties
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and practice documentation
  • Supporting ACC, insurance, and other patient-related administration
  • Working closely with the clinical team to ensure seamless patient care
  • Assisting with general reception and administrative tasks as required

Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:15am - 5:15pm
  • Friday: 8:15am - 4:15pm

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll bring outstanding customer service skills, excellent organisation, and a positive, team-focused attitude.

Ideally, You Will Have:

  • Previous receptionist experience (essential)
  • Healthcare, medical, or dental reception experience (highly advantageous)
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Confidence using computer systems and appointment scheduling software
  • A professional, proactive, and reliable approach to work
  • The ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy environment
  • A genuine passion for providing exceptional customer service

Additional Requirements

  • Must have valid New Zealand working rights
  • Must currently reside in New Zealand and live locally or within an easy commuting distance of Wanaka
