Steri Assistant - Dr Chau Dental Surgeons, Hobart

Are you an experienced Dental Assistant with a passion for sterilisation and infection control? We’re looking for a dedicated Full time Sterilisation Assistant to join Dr Chau’s team in Hobart.

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining high clinical standards and enjoys working in a structured, process-driven environment. While this is a full-time position, we’re open to part-time arrangements for the right candidate.

The successful candidate must be able to cover both practice locations: 

• Hobart: 149 Macquarie Street, Hobart, TAS, 7000
• Rosny Park: 26 Bayfield Street, Rosny Park, TAS, 7018

This is a steri-focused position where you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our clinical environment. You’ll be responsible for maintaining strict sterilisation protocols and supporting the team to deliver exceptional patient care.

Your Role Will Involve:

• Manage all sterilisation processes in line with industry standards and protocols
• Maintain and monitor infection control procedures
• Ensure instruments and equipment are processed, tracked, and stored correctly
• Uphold a clean, organised, and compliant steri environment
• Support stock control and ordering of clinical supplies
• Provide occasional chairside assisting support when required

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant (essential)
• Strong interest in sterilisation and infection control processes
• High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining protocols
• Well-organised with the ability to follow structured systems
• Flexible and adaptable, with a team-focused attitude
• Reliable and able to work independently when required
