    Job Description

    Here at Burton and Brown, we are a long standing team with a loyal patient base who work together to provide a high standard of patient care. We're proud to work in a positive environment with a team of clinical experts and talented support staff, all with the shared goal of making dentistry a positive experience. Our practice, located in Wellington CBD, is equipped with high end technology as we provide patients with general and specialised services 

    As our Sterilisation Assistant, you’ll be a critical part of our team! You'll support our experienced clinicians with various dental procedures during patient appointments, and take ownership of instrument sterilisation, infection control, and stock management.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Cleaning, sterilising, and maintaining dental instruments and equipment
    • Accurately monitoring and recording sterilisation processes
    • Assisting with infection control procedures across the clinic
    • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
    • Assisting with stock management
    • Supporting clinical staff with room setups and patient turnaround
    • Assisting chairside with procedures (training provided)
    • Providing occasional support at reception (training provided)

    The hours for this role are:

    • Monday 10:00am to 5:30pm
    • Tuesday 10:00am to 5:30pm
    • Wednesday  10:00am to 5:30pm
    • Thursday 10:00am to 5:30pm

    Qualifications

    To be successful in this role, you will bring the following:

    • Previous experience in the dental field, as a Dental Assistant or Sterilisation Assistant is a must for our busy practice.
    • Previous work with implants is a plus.
    • Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
    • A positive and team-orientated approach to all you do.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
    • Autonomy on prioritization and ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently.
    • You must currently reside in New Zealand and have work rights
