Our Christchurch City practice, located on Cambridge Terrace, is currently seeking a Sterilisation Assistant/Receptionist/ Dental Assistant. This is a varied and hands-on role that also offers the opportunity to support the clinical team when required, ideal for a flexible and proactive individual.
We are a professional and close-knit team looking for someone who is reliable, personable, and dedicated, with a genuine passion for patient care and strong attention to detail. The role spans two levels of the practice, so it will suit someone who enjoys staying active, can multitask effectively, and is happy to contribute wherever needed.
Job Description
As a Sterilisation Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring best practices are followed in the cleaning and sterilisation of instruments
- Maintaining strict infection control standards in line with New Zealand regulations
- Supporting the clinical team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
As a Receptionist, you will:
- Deliver a high standard of patient care and customer service
- Manage patient enquiries and coordinate appointments
- Process payments and support general administrative tasks
- Help create a welcoming and efficient front-desk experience
As a Dental Assistant, you will:
- Provide essential chairside support to our dental professionals
- Deliver exceptional patient care in a collaborative clinical environment
- Maintain a high standard of clinical support and patient service

Hours
The hours for this role are flexible and open to discussion, with potential to increase up to five days per week depending on business needs.
- Monday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
- Tuesday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
- Wednesday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
- Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- Dental experience (an advantage, but not essential, full training provided for the right candidate)
- Previous experience in a receptionist or customer-facing role
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable personality
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask
- A willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Good computer skills (knowledge of Exact is an advantage)
